About Your 1-day Extreme Shark Science Expedition

Expedition Location

Depart from the New Harbour, Hermanus and explore up to 20km of Walker Bay's coastal waters in search of sharks.

Expedition Season

Year round.

Expedition Itinerary

08h00: Meet at the New Harbour for a 15 minute briefing. 08h15: Launch. 15h30: Arrival back in the New Harbour.

Expedition Gear

Sunscreen, appropriate (warm) clothing, towel, camera, hat, seasickness medication (which can be purchased on-board for R250. Cash only).

The Expedition Science

We collect data on the biology and ecology of each and every shark, skate and stingray we meet on the Shark Science Expedition. Each shark will be sampled, tagged and released, providing invaluable data into a decade-long shark tagging project in Walker Bay!


R3500pp. Minimum of 4 people. Maximum of 10 people.
